It just kept getting better. I was looking at where to stay in the area, and wanting to see mount cook, and noticed there was a campsite with a view and opposite the mountain range. Then...it only had 4 spots so it was more likely to be quiet and encourage people who really want to experience the piece of the mountains. Then...an adventure along a gravel track along a beautiful turquoise lake, no one else on the road. Then...a beautiful camping spot with a perfect view of snow capped mountains.
Only come here if you have a guarantee of good weather. You're isolated, with 30 km of gravel road to contend with. Apparently, the view is superb. But with three days of rain and clouds, we couldn't verify that :( The Wi-Fi is good when it works; a power outage left us without a connection for 24 hours. The hosts are very friendly and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The cost is expensive at $120.

We do have a generator on site, so all essential services were operating as normal, unfortunately the only thing affected was the Wi-Fi, which does require the main network to be functioning. As a remote high-country location, weather can be unpredictable. The road is a council maintained public road and while we do our best to make this clear before booking we understand this may not suit everyone. Sadly the weather itself is something we can't control. We appreciate your feedback”
10/10 would recommend! Beautiful view, lovely cabin, very nice owners. Perfect for anyone who wants a secluded nature experience but still want to be comfortable.

سافرنا في منزل سيارة ذاتية القيادة ليلة واحدة في أواخر مارس. في المقارنة مع الطرق الحمراء في أستراليا، كان الطريق الحمراء في والخارج حلم! القيادة قليلا أسرع وسوف لا تشعر التقييم الكثير. يستحق القيادة لأن الرؤية هي فكرة. غامضة القطعة الصغيرة مع الحمام والمطبخ، الحمام، Wi-Fi الكبيرة. النجوم هي رائعة أيضا. أحب سماع الحيوانات في الليل. الشيء الوحيد الذي أوقعتني هو حقيقة يمكنك دفع للغسل في المنزل.

مكان جميل وحيد، على الأرجح فريدة من نوعها وتكون واحدة من الأماكن المفضلة لدينا. الطريق الخلفي هو مركبة إذا كنت تسرق في سيارة فان كبيرة ولكن يستحق ذلك. لديه كل ما تحتاجه مع المطبخ وما إلى ذلك، 2 حمام حار. محدودة إلى 4 الأماكن لذلك شعرت قريبة جدا ومتواضعة. مالكيات مزعجة جدا ومتفائل للتحقق من لدينا. نظرة مثيرة للغاية من بحيرة Pukaki، جبل كوك وجانب لا تلوث الضوء لزيارة جميلة للطريق السماوي.
Stunning spot, well worth the money. Unique location and the best site we stayed on in NZ by far. We were lucky and the weather was beautiful so we had the most amazing view of the stars and the milky way. Owners are lovely and very responsive. Would definitely stay again. Word of warning though - you need to travel 33km up a gravel road which is a little bumpy and dusty but this place is absolutely worth it 10/10
