DOC is building a new viewing platform and reinstating the lower bridge at The Chasm. It should be completed by end of November 2026 (subject to Fiordland’s wild weather conditions).

The Chasm site, including the carpark is closed to all visitors for the duration of the construction period.

While construction is underway, visitors may like to explore stunning alternative experiences like Lake Marian Falls Track, Milford Foreshore Walk or Humboldt Falls Track.
