Do not expect to be able to park up a campervan here, it’s got a carpark but it’s clear that the locals do not want anyone here and the West Coast district council has prohibited freedom camping at this location. It’s beautiful, but be aware it’s a huge drive in and out to the nearest spot to park up. We had to go to Lake paringa which was another 1.5hrs drive back.
We went for a 2hr hike through the rainforest, just stunning, then had an amazing meal at the Craypot, we just parked on some rough ground opposite the toilets, no one complained, there was a car park at end of road with a few vehicles, Highly recommended
Very peaceful place, great food at the Craypot!
Really recommend this spot its absolutely beautiful. there are "no camping" signs all along the Councils dictated area for freedom camping. However several campers and tents etc 250mt along the road and its a much better location it is further from the toilets. The Cray Pot eatery is open from 11am to 3.30pm.
Beautiful view of the bay. No signs to say we could camp and looks like a random turnaround bay however there was another camper there when we arrived. Don’t bother coming if you don’t have bug spray and mozzie sticks because holy moly, sand flies galore.
Great place to stay. Beautiful food at the Craypot.
There were no signs to say we could camp and no other vans there so we decided to move on as it didn’t look like we should be there overnight.
We camped here for one night with no problems. The car park has a beautiful view of the bay and there's a nice short walk to another bay nearby. The toilets are just down the road too. There are a LOT of sandflies but they'll be there wherever you go!
