Very busy. A challenge finding Billabong frontage. Need to be self contained. No Wifi, bins, toilets. Nice spot at sunrise over the Billabong. Good for a nights layover.

Great spot, beautiful bird life, lots of variety. Pity about the non-self contained campers running their grey water into the lagoon... Grrrr!!!

We stayed one night in swags. Was nice down beside the water. Lots of lily pads. Great sunset.

Stayed one night last night. Plenty of free space by the very small amount of standing water/river. Great bird life, sunset, and sunrise. Met a friendly guy camping next to us. Only trash cans as stated.

Awesome spot right along the river just over the bridge on the west side of Camooweal. Plenty of camping spots but be early for the river views. Some campers appear to be here for days at a time. There is no toilets nor water but dumpsters are supplied.

Don't follow location on maps it's actually just after the bridge on the left out of camooweal (going towards NT). Great spot, lovely sunset and sunrise. Loads of bird's including very friendly brolgas ?

Great wee spot one of our fav free camping spots so far. No facilities apart from the bins on the way in. We went about 2-3kms down the dirt track easy do able in 2wd and found a beautiful spot next to the river, loads of birds going about, it was really cloudy so sunset wasn’t great, and there’s loads of places for a campfire.

Great place to stay close to town nice quiet. Plenty of birds on billabong plenty bins .Camp go for 3km free not time limit .
