We were there and tried to book online but the website told us it’s not possible and when we asked by phone we were told true only thing we have to know is that we have to leave . Not sure what for.

Great for an overnight stay. We were the only camper in the spot and it was nice and quiet once the day users left the park which closes at 9 pm. Booked and paid online before we got there.

Tried to stay here. Booking and payment must be made on the gov website. Created an accountant made the booking, but we are not from NZ and our bank wasn’t able to make this kind of secure payment. We called customer support at Auckland Council and spent 25 min waiting for someone to answer. Unfortunately they weren’t able to help. Hoping for an update of the booking system.

Quite and lovely spot with view of the ocean! Walking tracks around, barbecue to use and short walk to the beach.

Lovely spot with views out to sea and the islands. Quiet at night and no bright lights, so great for a good nights sleep. Some very nice walking tracks to wander on and a good bike track between Maraetai and Beachlands goes through the park. Birdsong and little lambs to feed if you wish, just a delightful stopover for a day or two. Only two campers here last night at the end of September.

Great place. Came here in June so had a rainy day but next 2 sun filled days were brilliant. Toilet and change area were ok very well patrolled and very little light pollution so stars were out in full force. Will definitely return

Stayed here in March. Had a pass and went to book in on the phone. Had done this at a previous arc park and what a wait. The folk at the council need to have some better training as to where you are. We stayed at several of these parks which we love and each time the people on the phone at the council were dreadful they had all our details and still could not get it right. I intend to ring the Auckland council and put in a complaint.. The other thing is at some of the phones you rung in from where hard to hear as well as the person you were talking to , and the waiting time was always about 5- 10mins before they answered and this was durning the day. However this spot is a great place to stay quiet and a good walks. We think these passes are great and prefer this to the DOC pass. There are some beautiful ARC places to stay.

Know your rights concerning new SC regulations. I have an Estima and was told my van cannot stay, even with the Self Contained certification. This is incorrect because my certificate was issued before May 2017, therefore, COMPLIES with the new regulations. Annoyed that I got harassed in the middle of the night when I am perfectly legal. Beautiful campsite, though, and I do recommend staying here :)
