~ 8 - 10 bay freedom camp in the parking lot of the main strip of shops. This carpark is paid from 8:30am- 5:30pm, for $1 an hour. Toilet block max 3 minute walk at end of lot and clean. Bridge just behind the toilets that takes you straight onto the beach. Lot was full probably around 7:30 which is when the ranger came

Pro jednu noc docela v pořádku. veřejné toalety jsou přímo tam. pláž je 1 min. a jídlo nebo kavárny tam je spousta na ulici.

Velký parkoviště s mnoha dalšími motorhomes. Toalety jsou poměrně daleko od určené oblasti. Krátké 3 minut jízdy na pláž před parkoviště i pro východ slunce.

Zůstal zde na jednu noc a neměl žádné problémy, tam byly asi čtyři další maui domy vedle nás. Cítili jsme se v bezpečí a mysleli jsme si, že je to snadné místo pro přístup ke všemu v blízkosti.

Based right in the centre of town but very quiet at night. Full by 6pm. Toilets at the end of the carpark (short walk). Good spot

Horrible spot for freedom campers! Difficult to get a good place, loud and drunk teens at midnight, city workers working onsite at 3AM.

Skvělé možnosti, ale populární, takže musíte se tam dostat brzy nebo mít štěstí.

We were here at 4pm and it was the last spot of the 3 freedom camping sites in kaikoura, so be quick! Public toilets nearby. You can stay here from 6pm to 8am before 6pm you have to pay the normal prices for the parking lot

Good location as I didn't get a spot at the other one. You can arrive before 5.30 but have to pay (1$ an hour)

Ten berths for fully self-contained campers (max. length 10m/30'). Right in the heart of town; nice and quiet overnight. Free overnight parking hours are 5.30pm to 8.30am. Public toilets are a ≈150m/165yd walk away.
