Great place, definitely recommended - not only for birders!

To byl jeden z vrcholů naší cesty! Dozvěděli jsme se tolik o ptácích NZ a ochranných opatřeních, která se dělají po celém světě.

Skvělé místo. Velmi vzdělávací a pěkná procházka na ptačí skrýše

Really great! We went for a nice walk to the bird blinds and watched the wrybills flying and other shorebirds wandering around. The staff was super nice and informative and they let us take showers here in exchange for a donation. They also offer backpacker style dorm accommodation, 25$ pp.

Miranda Shorebirds Centre. Charitable trust engaged in shorebird advocacy. By donation. Important migration route of NZ shorebirds.

A bummer at the edge of the road with the noise of cars. 3 seagulls ,ducks and swallows with cows ........

Beware of the tides. When we were there it was low tide and we couldn't see any birds...

Nicely set up walk and bird hides - just ensure you go at high tide! The Centre further up the road has plenty of information and binoculars for hire.
