Du kan ikke køre til denne campingplads, men du kan trække væk fra vejen og parkere lige før og efter indgangen til sporet til stedet og gå 10 minutter, eller cykle ind til denne strandpromenade tentsite. Stedet har et køkken skjul og lang drop toilet samt tapper advarer dig om at koge vand før du drikker. Stedet er lige ved siden af et par dejlige gågader, en nem til Kauri fald eller en mere udfordrende gåtur til en gammel træmølle & hvalstation eller sporene. Ingen trafik her, bare lyden af fugle og fisk hopper.

This campsite is not boat access only. We got dropped off at the road and watched the 15 minute track to the camping area. It overlooks the Whangaparapara estuary. It is near the hot springs which we didn't check out as it was a much farther walk than we anticipated. There is a sign that says there is glass in one of the hot springs. Water must be boiled here. One long drop toilet. Thousands of mosquitoes. Be prepared for that. If you walk past the wharf, around the rocks, there is a cave and lots of beautiful crystals. It was the highlight for me. The highlight for my sister was the fishing. Stunning spot. But just be prepared, because it is a mission to walk to the closest town. Locals are awesome though, hitchhiking encouraged.
