Decent stop, kiwicamp facilities are pretty good, though very dated compared to all other sites i have been to. Have stayed 2 nights on different occassions and people have been good, pretty standard mix. Also get surfers and others turn up just to do washing and shower. The dune down to the beach is several metres tall and hard work. Is dog friendly and gets sun all day for the people using solar. Phone signal is patchy to non-existant for 2degrees.

Great place to stay. Very easy and nice location. Laundry facilities available and outdoor kitchen area. Some technical issues currently for showers, but toilets still usable.

Nothing felt sketchy or off about this place. All the kiwi card amenities are disabled due to damage from the last storm, but the accessible bathroom has nice hot water.

February 17, 2026: Probably a technical issue, none of the (penny/kiwi) cards for the showers were working… so we left

We were a bit concerned after reading the latest reviews about suspicious people hanging around, but still wanted to check out the location. It’s a nice spot close to the beach with free toilets. But we decided to leave because of several potentially homeless people who were on site with their rundown vans, consuming drugs and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. We are traveling with a small child, so didn’t want to risk getting into trouble. Pity.

Kiwicamp facilities here are awesome, I always go for a shower but would never stay as atmosphere is uncomfortable and doesn’t feel safe!! Undesirable people, weed smoking, foul language, broken down vehicles which no way have legit WOF’s. such are shame, clearly no one monitoring the site so anything goes 😟

Beautiful place to stay! You find everything you need. With the kiwicash key (you can buy for 5$ in the next Superrette) you can pay for shower (2$ for 4min) or a laundry and dryer (4$ each), electric loading, warm dish wash, or electric hotplates. Additional you have free use for toilet and hand wash facilities. Everything was very clean and in top condition

A few local van lifers - and their dogs. Bit methy vibe but no issue. Fairly unspectacular spot to park and the beach 2 min away also. But it does have toilets, showers laundry as described. Due to the number of regulars there really is a healthy cockroach population so don't leave your dirty dishes out overnight without cleaning them.

Det var okay. Pladserne var gratis og relativt lige. Du kan hurtigt komme til stranden over en dune. Et brusebad koster $ 2 i 4 minutter ved hjælp af Kiwi Cash, og toiletterne er rene og gratis. Jeg så en lille kakerlak (1,5 cm) sidde fredeligt på væggen, mens du badede. Der var betydeligt flere kakerlakker ved vasken, mange af dem døde. Der var Wi-Fi, men modtagelsen forringede sig hurtigt, jo længere du kom fra bygningen. Det er rart at have en gratis vandvask ved siden af bygningen.
