Great hike! 15mins to Taranaki lookout, another 30 to the falls lookout and then another 25 to the falls (best part of the walk).

First part of walk to taranaki view point is easy but I didn't really see taranaki. Second part was harder as lots of tree roots and very in the forest vibe which was great but when you have to come back there is lots of up hill and for me not being fit it was intense. Take water

Great walk! Its about 1 hour to the look out on the falls but than you can go down to the falls. 2 hours return. Total walking time 4 hours!

2h return if you are fast. It could be nice to be there on sunset otherwise it is common forest route. Last few km is pretty muddy even in dry weather. The hike back to carpark is ultra boring

Nice walk to the lookout but it needs to be a very clear day to see Taranaki

10 min from Gravel Road to get there. 15 min for the first lookout not crazy, then the road becomes muddy and a bit raid up the waterfall not spectacular ... we put about 1h go after the lookout and 1h back in everything. We would not go there if we had known.

There's a no camping sign now, even for SC.

Don't know about camping, but there is a great 20 min walk until Lookout on Mt Taranaki and 1h20 to the Tupapakurua Falls Lookout

Super place for a night. But is a little colder than elsewhere because the place is just under 850 meters.

Little spot away from everything. Perfect for a quiet night!
