A really lovely circular route! Both bridges are open, so you can walk the whole way without worry :) but beware of the many sandflies! Especially when you go down from the viewpoint to the beach.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of December, the footbridge is closed. There is still a nice viewpoint just before or else a 45-minute walk that goes around the river on the other bank, always starting from the same parking lot. The weather was not on our side today, so we did not do the little walk which must have been very pleasant.

Great drive up the valley with stunning mountain scenery. Excellent easy walk overlooks the gorgeous glacial blue waters of the Hokatika Gorge. Lots of photo opportunities.

So blue ! Beautiful. You can just park next to it and check out quickly the gorges (no tracks open). At the parking lot, New toilets and 4G if you need to get some work done.

The water is more grey than blue atm. The place is beautiful but not worth the 1h detour drive (return from main road)
