A truly beautiful location, right on the lake, with plenty of space and a fantastic view. Absolutely fantastic. The owner is very warm and welcoming. The glowworms nearby are fascinating. The toilets and showers are clean, so no problem. We had no major problems getting there with our campervan (3.60 m wide and 7.80 m long). It is quite narrow for about 800 meters, though, so it's a good idea to call ahead to avoid oncoming traffic.

On our way to the campsite, we discovered the road was closed and wouldn't reopen for another three hours. After contacting the campsite to cancel our booking, they offered no assistance whatsoever. The receptionist had no intention of canceling the booking and was completely unsympathetic. We had to wait somewhere until the road reopened. Fortunately, we found another campsite. I strongly advise against this one.

Fantastic location, however the toilet block and to a lesser extent the shower block was filthy. We stayed for three nights, on arrival the toilet and shower blocks were dirty. A used plaster was on the urinal, when we left it was still there, no effort to clean while during our stay. It calls itself an Eco Village, does that mean they don't use cleaning products or water?

Beautifully placed. Friendly staff. A couple of nice walks. And beautiful place to just sit and breath. And swim. And see glowworms. 2 things: 1. The gravel road down there is very narrow. 2. If you request an unpowered site for your campervan, remember to state in your booking that tou sleep in your vehicle and not in a tent.

Beautifully located and isolated campsite. Glowworms and phosphorescent algae in the water made the place feel magical. The road there is pretty rough, and I would not go here in a large motorhome. It was a bit hard to find a level spot for the van. Hot showers were $2 for 4 minutes and coins could be bought at the dairy onsite. Showers could use a cleaning but was functional and the water was hot. The lack of shiny new facilities was 100% made up for by the atmosphere at this campsite

Ein schöner Campingplatz mit sehr freundlichen Besitzern. Sie können Kajaks und SUPs mieten und mit ein wenig Glück Stingrays sehen. Nachts glänzt das Wasser und es gibt unzählige Feuerlöcher. Für uns, einer der magischsten Orte in Neuseeland.

The view is amazing , but we spent the night there with our camper van and the road is very challenging for a big van. The toilets and showers are disgusting and even the kitchen was during not clean in the evening. It is ok if you are staying one night but not recommendale for longer stays.

Lovely setting and welcoming owners. Showers/ toilets/ kitchen all clean. Kayaking around the bay in the day was great and the glow worms and Phosphorescence waters was a real highlight to our trip.

Wirklich schmutzige Toiletten, Duschen und Küche. schöne Umgebung, aber wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier nicht geliebt.
