Planned to stay here for one night, drove all the way to Kenepuru Heads, started driving on the gravel road in our small camper but the road quickly turned into mud and we made the right decision to turn around. Other reviews below have good drive time info and expectations. We were really looking forward to this spot, but was not safe to drive in anything but a 4x4. Plan a head with a full tank of petrol, as the gravel road quickly zaps it!! Worth the journey if going for more than one night.

Amazing spot! Had it to ourselves, beautiful beach. The road to get there is long and windy, be careful. But so worth it! Flush toilets and a cold shower, unfiltered water. Beware of the sheep poop!

Was für ein Ort. Eine lange Grabenstraße in, aber absolut die Reise wert. Atemberaubender Ort. Gute Grundlegende Einrichtungen. Sauber und ordentlich. Parkplatz in einem Paddock. schöner Strand und Bauernhof Ort.

Info first: road from Linkwater is only open to ‘public’ on weekends and holidays due to severe flood damage a while back. During weekdays it is only open to residents. Vehicles are limited to 8m long and 2.5m wide. The road is slow going. 43km from Linkwater junction to Kenepuru Head took 1h 13m. The last 26km out to Titirangi Bay took exactly 1h. The gravel road is right back to bedrock in many places, so be cautious on tyres and avoid taking a low-slung station wagon up there. The camp: awesome. Not a DOC camp unlike what this app says. No need to book however best to phone ahead to see how busy. Google Titirangi Farm Park to find their number. 03 579 8006. You are camping in a paddock just back from the beach. Basic facilities with flushing toilets, cold showers and some sinks. There are not many flat spots in the paddock, so choose with care, also, off the ‘road’ the grass is long and hard to see how lumpy the ground is underneath. Price is currently $10/A and $5/C. The views on the drive down the driveway alone are worth it. Good campsite, and while there were quite a few kids there, it certainly wasn’t noisy.

Ben and Nicole are such great people, so welcoming and run the campground extremely well. This was a little gem we stumbled upon and ended up staying 4 nights. The people we met there were amazing, took me diving and every night we were invited to somebody’s caravan or campfire.

Awesome place for swimming, fishing and chilling. Ben and Nicky were very friendly and hard working to make everything nice. Great facilities. No cellphone reception but you won't need it with all the beauty around you. Highly recommended!

Very long, steep and windy road to get to this lovely location. Cold showers, toilets and sinks for washing up plus the most stunning views and a gorgeous little sandy beach! A new sign was put up during our stay to advise free camping! A great spot, just keep an eye out for those cheeky weka ;)

26km gravel road up and down a mountain to get to the campsite which takes quite a long time! Big campsite, lovely view of the sea but only a very short beach to walk along and no other walks nearby. 2 cold showers, 3 clean flush toilets. Still free for summer!

Just unbelievable, heaven on earth I'd say. The gravel road going there is in good condition, but it takes some time, especially the ending is very steep and curvy. Once you're arriving you'll be granted incredible views and a beach for yourself. Facilities are okay-good, too. Be aware of cows, though!

Awesome spot—free for summer! Lots of kayak campers there, small beach to explore. Road wasn’t bad getting there, went around 40 kmph most the way. Steep and winding at the end up oh so beautiful.
