Magic little spot and an oppurtunity to view a rare natural phenomenon. Accessed at low tide via the carpark off koutu loop rd, we spent an enjoyable hour and half here.
Die Koutu Boulders sind weit mehr als nur Felsen am Strand. Dies sind fossilisierte Überreste eines großen Cephalopod. Diese Boulders sind das, was in Octopus als das Acetabulum bekannt ist. Es gibt auch das Infundibulum, das in grundlegenden Begriffen die Suckers ist, weshalb sie in Tasse geformt sind. sie wurden lange Zeit in salzigem Brunnen steinert. Ich kann nicht glauben, dass niemand in der Geschichte die Biologie gesehen hat. Es lohnt sich, wenn Sie Fossilien kennen.
Nice walk on the beach with cool boulders. Car park hard to find.

Please take care when parking your car! Lots of people having windows broken and things stolen!!! Try to avoid this area if possible!
Very nice. The google maps is not correct. You have to stop at the car park about 300 m before and walk along the beach.
Just some stones on the beach. Not really worth the detour. Wairere Boulders were really much nicer on the whole, because you can also have nice walks there and camp in a beautiful setting. Here I had the feeling that the locals don't really appreciate all the tourists driving there.
Great boulders and if you walk the course to the end also much larger than the known at Mouraki.
Can you look at any case. We started at the end of Cabbage Tree Bay Road. If you know the Moeraki Boulders, it should be noted that the Kouto Boulders are often not as well shaped as the Moeraki. But it is still an interesting natural phenomenon.
Really cool! Worth the trip. Can be seen 3 hours either side of low tide. Sensible footwear required
