Η τοποθεσία κατασκήνωσης είναι ωραία (7πμ έως 9πμ, αλλά κανένας δεν νοιάζεται), οι τουαλέτες πλύσης είναι κλειστές καθώς δεν υπάρχει νερό στις δεξαμενές για πλύση, υπάρχει διαθέσιμη μια τουαλέτα σταγόνων. Οι πεζοπορίες είναι εκπληκτικές (συνιστάται ιδιαίτερα ο κύκλος της λίμνης Rere). Ο δρόμος για να φτάσετε εκεί είναι σκαμνός αλλά εντάξει. Το 2ο ford είναι ένα άσχημο. Θα το κάνετε εύκολο, το πρόβλημα είναι η επιστροφή. Χρειάζεστε καλή κάθαρση στα χτυπήματα. Δεν θα το συνιστούσα αν οδηγείτε ένα μοτοσικλέτα ή αν είστε αρχάριος οδηγός, καθώς θα κολλήσει σε

Υπέροχο σημείο πριν από ένα σκαμνί, ο δρόμος που οδηγεί εδώ είναι γραβάτα, έχει αρκετές προεξοχές και τρύπες. Carpark έχει κενά πλύσης και σκουπίδια για πλύσιμο χεριών. Δεν υπάρχει κάλυψη κυττάρων.

Ωραίο μέρος για να κοιμηθείτε πριν από την έναρξη της μεγάλης βόλτα. βρήκαμε καφέ γυαλιά στην αρχή της διαδρομής γκρινολίπας. τα αφήσαμε στην καμπίνα του καταυλισμού.

Remote and quiet! Gravel road is fine, 3 fords as mentioned but these go down as quickly as they go up. No large campervans recommended for road. We parked here to stay one night and then left the van for 4 nights during our Routeburn/Greenstone tramp. Flush toilets were locked when we arrived, on return they were open - the long drop is always available. Lovely stream nearby for a dip.

Took us about an 45 minutes to get there from the top of the lake and involved crossing 3 small fords, which was easy in the summer. Check the weather before as signal is non-existent there and the fords can make you extend your stay. Nice carpark equipped with flush toilets near some great fishing and tramping!

This is truly in the middle of nowhere and the road to get out isn’t great.

Awesome spot if you want to do the Lake Rere loop day walk (4-6hrs). Great swimming spot 5 mins down the road. Flushing loos woohoo, thanks DOC! Be aware that the carpark gets full. It hadn't rained for a week or so when we went and the fords were just about ok in our hiace.

We made it to the river, and you can’t even see where the road starts again. Not safe!

Okay campsite at the beginning of some tracks, flush toilets are closed during winter time. The road was good, you do need to pass 3 small rivers but I passed without a problem with a Toyota estima (in good weather conditions)

Thanks for the nice toilets, tom! Apart from a lot of sandflies a nice and remote stop with nice and clean flushing toilets. We made the crossing of 3 little rivers without a 4WD in fine weather, worked perfectly fine. In bad weather it‘s risky. About a 1.15 hour drive to routeburn.
