Fine for one night. Place was nice but be weary of when it rains a lot, the place gets flooded. No service.

Avoid staying in this DOC campsite! For a hefty price of 18$ pp, you will get a wet gravel road with potholes, vault toilet in horrible condition, an army of mosquitoes waiting for you to open the door, and zero phone reception.

We spent 18 dollars per person but there was no internet connection and no electricity.Is isn’t worth to pay money. And there were so so so many mosquitos:( we struggle to sleep comfortably…… I don’t recommend to stay here

It is a nice tucked away gravel campsite. Single drop toilet only so try to take care of business before evening and morning traffic. Quiet. No cellular or satellite signal here. During afternoon minimal sandfly/mosquitos but evening we left windows with screen down but many still got through. Spent the night and morning driving out killing and getting bitten and killing mostly mosquitos and some sandflies. No joke.

Many nice spots for freedom camping in the forest by the lake. Toilets were okay but lots of sandflies and mosquitoes. We stayed at this campsite after our visit to Milford Sound, would not recommend to stay here on the way to Milford though as the drive is still quite long.

Bad experience There are smelly toilets. Thats all Price 18 per night is expensive. Booking only online through confusing and complicated DoC website. Wake up DoC. Unfortunately not many options around.

It was expensive for disastrous toilets full of flies (and sandflies). No facilities other than tables. The only positive point is the beach and the tranquility of the place.

Lots of bugs as others have said - to be expected of course. Must bring spray. Most campsites up to Milford Sound are very similar so it’s probably worth going further up the road to another site, saves the 2 hour drive to Milford in the morning. Very poor phone signal so be prepared.
