“Thank you for your honest feedback. We're sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We completely understand that extra charges can be frustrating, so we'd like to clarify a few points that may help future guests – and we hope this also provides some context for your stay: Laundry and oven fees – Both the washer/dryer and oven operate on $2 coins, which are readily available for exchange at our office. The oven fee is in place to encourage mindful usage and prevent it from being accidentally left on, which is why it automatically shuts off after the set time. Kitchen radiator – This can be manually adjusted or turned on/off by anyone using the kitchen, so please don't hesitate to adjust it to your comfort level during your stay. Hairdryer – We do have a hard-wired hairdryer available in the women's bathroom, so there's no need to bring your own. However, we take your point about the lack of general power outlets and will consider this for future improvements. Shower timer – Our showers are set to a 5-minute cycle and can simply be reactivated by pressing the button again for another 5 minutes. We find this helps manage hot water availability for all guests during peak times. We genuinely value your feedback, as it helps us improve both our facilities and the information we provide to guests. If there's anything else you'd like to discuss, please feel free to reach out to us directly – we'd be happy to chat further. We hope you'll give us another opportunity to provide a more seamless experience in the future. Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Quiet, protected from the wind and the amenities were great. Just a bit cold in the bathrooms but to be expected, would reccomend

“Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful, sheltered atmosphere of the park and found our amenities to be great. We appreciate your honest note about the bathroom temperatures – winter mornings can certainly be chilly! We'll take that on board as we continue to look for ways to improve guest comfort throughout the colder months. It's wonderful to know that you'd recommend us to others, and we'd love to welcome you back for another stay in the future. Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Stayed during the cyclone for two nights. The staff on the desk were lovely, facilities are good with a well equipped kitchen and laundry area. Showers could have been stronger and hotter but ultimately a very decent spot!

“Thank you for your review – and wow, staying during a cyclone is certainly a memorable way to experience Great Lake Holiday Park! We're so glad you made it through safely and that we could provide a comfortable shelter during those wild conditions. It's wonderful to hear that our team made a positive impression – they'll be thrilled to know their friendliness stood out, even during such challenging weather. We also appreciate your kind words about our well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. We take your feedback about the shower pressure and temperature on board. During stormy conditions, we do sometimes experience fluctuations, but we'll certainly have our maintenance team look into it to ensure everything is performing at its best. Thank you for calling us a "very decent spot" – that means a lot. We'd love to welcome you back under much sunnier skies next time! Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

It was 44 NZD. Otherwise, stuff was helpful. About cleanliness, kitchen was ok. Showers would use a bit of cleaning.

“Thanks for your review! We're glad our team were helpful and that the kitchen met your needs. We appreciate your feedback on the showers – we'll make sure our cleaning team gives them some extra attention. We hope to see you again! Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Friendly, clean, well maintained facilities. Lovely hot showers.

“Thank you for your lovely review! We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our friendly atmosphere, clean facilities, and hot showers – it's exactly what we aim to provide for every guest. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Facilities of this campsite are great. Everything you need in the kitchen including chopping boards pots and pans etc, very clean and has the option to sit in the kitchen area to eat which we appreciated. The toilets and showers are clean and shower was lovely an warm , the hairdryer was a massive plus. Staff are really friendly and the campsite has a lovely quiet calm vibe to it. Would recommend and worth $44.

“This review made our day – thank you! From fully stocked kitchens and warm showers to friendly faces and peaceful vibes, it sounds like you got the full Great Lake experience. So glad the hairdryer came in handy too! We really appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you back again soon. All the best, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Θα δώσει πίστωση για την πίεση του ντους, ήταν πολύ ισχυρή, η οποία ήταν ωραία. Ωστόσο, η τιμή δεν αξίζει απολύτως αυτό που παίρνετε. Πληρώσαμε $70 για τροφοδοτείται, μια νύχτα. Τόσοι πολλοί κανόνες, $6 για το πλύσιμο, δεν μπορεί να κρεμάσει τα ρούχα σας στην κατασκήνωση σας- θα πρέπει να τους κρεμάσει στις γραμμές τους. Δεν υπάρχουν κόλλα που παρέχονται για τη γραμμή πλύσης που έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιήσετε, και επειδή δεν υπήρχε πολύ χώρο είχαμε υγρό πλύσιμο μας ωθήθηκε στη γωνία για να κάνει χώρο για τα πράγματα των άλλων ανθρώπων!! $4 για να χρησιμοποιήσετε το φούρνο για 30 λεπτά;

“Cheers for your feedback – glad you loved the shower pressure! Sorry to hear the extras and rules were a letdown. Just so you know, the laundry and oven fees keep our nightly rates lower, and the clothesline rule is as much about keeping the park looking nice as it is about protecting trees – we figure no one wants to camp next to a display of damp socks and underwear! Fair call on the pegs and space though – we'll sort that out. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and hope you'll give us another shot down the track. All the best, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Overall, a good campsite. The site is well located next to the town. The staff are friendly 😊. However, the campsite needs some renovation; the children's play area is old, as are the showers, toilets, and kitchen. Okay for one night, but not more.

“Thanks for your review! We're so glad our friendly team and great location made a positive impression. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the facilities – you're right that some areas are due for a refresh, and we're currently planning upgrades to improve the overall experience for our guests. We hope you'll come back and see the improvements in the future! Warm regards, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”

Great people, great location. Great kitchen and outside BBQ close to the office was good but the ones further down to the road didn't work. The showers are a little used but clean. Over all a bit expensive compared to the quality of other sites in my opinion.

“Thanks for your review! Great to hear you liked the team, the location, and the kitchen – and yes, that BBQ near the office is a winner! Thanks for the heads-up about the other BBQs – we'll get onto that ASAP. Also hear you on the pricing and the showers looking a bit well-loved. We're working on some upgrades, so hopefully next time you'll see a bit of a glow-up! Appreciate your honesty and hope to have you back. All the best, The Great Lake Holiday Park Team”
