Una maravillosa conducción, senderismo y vistas desde la pequeña montaña con paisajes asombrosos incluso en un día nublado. Debe ir defensivamente incluso si no es un fanático de lotería! Aproximadamente 1 hora en coche de Mount Somers Village con 40 min de carretera de barro (una carretera de barro bastante buena). Desde el aparcamiento de su coche un 20 min a pie en tierra plana y luego 20 min hasta la montaña.

Comentarios sobre la carretera de barro no son bromas, es un viaje duro pero definitivamente vale la pena, el escenario más asombroso y todo alrededor de ti no sólo se parece a la película sino a las descripciones en el libro. pienso que es el sitio de cine más inmersivo que he visitado. recomendaría un sombrero o chaqueta para poner sobre tus oídos ya que es muy viento en el pico.

Very long gravel road but in the end we find a magnificent landscape and especially edoras that we recognize at first glance! One of my favorite LOTR filming locations

Road is open now. Gavel road is pretty bad at few points and there is one big ford. Be careful specially after rainy day

Road was unfortunately on December 14th. Closed due to flooding. Dishonor.

There are 24km gravel road, the 10km to Lake Clearwater are good passable but the rest is pretty bad: /

Best place in New Zealand, just amazingly beautiful area. Camped in the parking lot because we arrived late. But please only self-contained, take your trash with you. One must take care of this indescribably beautiful landscape!
