What a great place to spend a night in nature. I phoned ahead to check there was room and the visitor centre manager said no worries, just turn up. He welcomed us and showed us to the exceptionally well-presented site, showed us the shower and toilet and did us a deal on a combined entry to the reserve plus the campsite. With power and fresh water at each pitch, I can't fault this for an overnight stay. We're looking forward to exploring more in the morning, but did pop in and saw the 2 kiwis
Great camping spot with brand new facilities including bathrooms with hot showers, power, water, shelter... and the songs of so many native birds around sunset! We're glad we arrived the night before our tour!
(No demasiado caro tampoco)
Beautiful place and worth a visit!
Great! Really worth it and we noticed how passionate the staff is. Nice walk, too
Friendly staff, nice cafe, good information. You do need some patience to spot the birds in the cages, but most of all do walk the summit track! Beautiful ancient native forest on the northern side, and regenerating bush along the southern part. No issues with the entry fee level as we’ve spent more than three enjoyable hours there.
Basically a great idea and nicely laid out, but the free flying enclosure was pretty small and almost empty.
Very cool local place. Make sure to bring raingear if it's raining since the walkways are outside. Visiting provided a lot of information and fun interactions with viewing the animals.
