Be careful if approaching the summit from the south (Sunrise Ridge Track) — this is a very tough hike. The trail is faint and poorly marked, with 7 river crossings before a steep climb. The hardest part is near the top: almost no markers, some scrambling, and loose scree. Don’t underestimate it — be fit and comfortable with heights. Took me about 8h round trip, with a few scary moments.

Escenario asombroso, un must para los fans de trampas y LOTR. Nos aparcamos en Courthouse Flat (nunca hemos visto tantas abejas en mi vida) y caminamos hasta la encantadora Granity Pass. El DOC PDF sobreestima ligeramente los tiempos de senderismo, (choque) no demasiado mal aunque la carretera en era buena para un vehículo normal, tenga en cuenta que hay un cruce de río superficial (pavado) que se vuelve peludo después de la lluvia fuerte.

Quizá bueno, pero por favor tenga en cuenta que esto es una caminata. no podía hacerlo porque era demasiado tarde.La carretera es mala y tenía miedo de conseguir el coche.

Cuidado, no intentes ir allí ahora debido a la inundación.Es completamente imposible atravesar el río

Monte Owen 1875m, punto más alto del Parque Nacional Kahurangi, hermosa caminata, acceso desde el North Courthouse Flat, cuenta 2 días con una noche en la Hut of Granity Hut. Paisaje extraordinario, realmente vale la pena.

Más intenso, tomando mucha agua y caminando palos si es posible, desde el campamento hasta la cima lo tuve para el regreso a las 11 de la mañana con breves pausas, una vez más increíbles paisajes y bosques

Awesome but hard at the beginning. We did the first day in 7 hours including breaks, IPS breaks ... 4 hours to do the first 3 kilometers. Hard but after it's just awesome, lovely hut, and awesome trip for the second days, some lakes and massive rocks area. Just awesome! Do it. That the best tramp we did in NZ. Very quiet, we were alone. Enjoy

Nice hike.

Very nice hike we did from the north starting at the Courthouse flat campsite , took us ca 12h20 o / high fitness level recommended, it climbs and steep descents very beautiful view 360 atop Mount Owen all The way from the hut reminds one of the sceneries of the Lord of the Rings! Do not rely on the times indicated by the DOC (3h40 to join the hut against 6h indicated on the panels)
