Roadworks - no parking
If you are driving a rental vehicle towards the west coast make sure you know how to switch to manual gear shift well before driving this section of road. The descent is quite steep, our brakes got very hot and smelled of burning rubber by the end, would recommend using 2nd and 3rd gear and try let the engine do some of the slowing for you.

Coming from Haast side you have to cross the road to pull over. But on the left hand side of the bridge is a walkway to a viewing spot (2mim walk) but be careful!
Super rapids, but no way to stop.
Super cool but no where to wall on the bridge so it’s not worth stopping. Gets good view as you cross the bridge by car
The road works are still there making it difficult to stop.
Roadworks and dangerous at this time as it is raining a lot! Be careful!
If you get chance, stop and get a picture. There are currently roadworks on the one side
Waterfall (or Rapids): 7/10 Overall setting: 5/10 Photogenic Level: 4/10 If coming from Haast direction, it's after Thundercreek Falls. I actually thought the rapids and river were pretty damn awesome! The problem is that it's not a safe location to take photos, and the angle is terrible. This is one spot that could do with a hanging viewing platform under the bridge to fully appreciate it.
