It's not too far off the main Highway about 11 km and you do pass an impressive dam wall. It is a sealed road .We parked but then had a little look around and discovered there was a lot of places where we could camp so we moved our van to a more picturesque spot. There were some campers that came very late at night which was a little bit disturbing. It was pitch Black where we were. However, in the morning The view across the dam was spectacular. There were no facilities and no phone signal.

Take the left after Dingo Spank Road to get to the site

A great spot by the lake. Dog friendly, campfires, fishing if you have a license. We camped alongside the boat ramp with a beautiful view over the lake and towards the mountains. Good base to travel out from…. RnJ

Beautiful camping spot! Worth the short drive off the highway… lots of spaces available at the top grass area or can drive down towards the jetty’s and camp along the river too. Suitable only for self contained vehicles, no facilities. We did have a campfire though! Would go back! About an hour drive to cradle mountain

BEST camping spot in my trip to Tasmania. Absolutely beautiful and breathing. I was car camping in an SUV with a tent, and we got to this place easily and found an elevated, grassy spot for the tent along the waterfront. Stayed for one night and there were 1 or 2 other people around. Quiet and beautiful. Met by a possum at dusk, but felt overall very safe. No service, no facilities.

A beautiful spot by the lake with views of the surrounding hills. No facilities but not needed when you are self contained.
