This town is weird. Really dodgy. Just bad vibes as soon as I arrived and then turned around straight after arriving at this camp site. I’m a female solo traveler so gotta be more safe and no one else was there just one random normal car that didn’t look like someone camping in it.

Woken up at 2 AM by a car with its music blasting; the guy was drunk. Lots of noise because of the deer nearby. However, it's a very pretty spot, though the toilets smell really bad.

Very nice place, next to the river, clean long drop toilets. Everything seems nice and pretty, and we didnt want follow other commens opinions but. People are actually strange here. Cars driven by quite questionable individuals pass by, they slow down to check you out (like they are looking for something) and then drive away again and this happens very, very often, like every 15-30 minutes.

Paikka on hieno, on vessat, verkko ja olet joen varrella. Tapasimme vain muutamia perheitä ja ihmisiä, jotka tulivat kävelemään koiriensa kanssa. Meitä ei häirinnyt lainkaan yöllä, lukuun ottamatta hirviötä tien toisella puolella, mutta tottuu siihen. 😊

Itsessään hyvä vaihtoehto, ilmainen ja keskeisellä paikalla. Kuitenkin ajoimme takaisin ennen pimeää, koska siellä oli paljon outoja merkkejä piiloutuen parkkipaikan ympärille. Paikka on tarkoitus olla hyvin turvallinen, mutta tunsimme hyvin epävarma ja ajoi uudelleen.

Kaunis näkymä rannalle, mutta paikka on enemmän koirapuisto paikallisille. Ole varovainen ruohoalueella koirille sh**.

Kaunis paikka, jossa on fantastinen auringonlasku. Siellä on wc, mutta wc-paperi oli tyhjä. Valitettavasti nuoret ihmiset ajoivat siellä autolla, kuuntelivat musiikkia kovilla kaiuttimilla ja joivat alkoholia. Koska se ei näyttänyt siltä, että he lähtivät pian ja emme halunneet mitään ongelmia, siirryimme sivustoon War Memorial, todellinen häpeä!

Kiva paikka, yksi puhdas ei haise pitkä pudotus! Pysäköinti ruoholla niin tällä hetkellä uima-allas, mutta onnistui löytämään 1 paikka gravelly hieman pois tieltä. Myös ehdottomasti poika kilpailija kääntää ympyrän, mutta he katosivat klo 10 niin oli ok.

Pretty decent spot right on the beach. We arrived late on a Tuesday after all of the other sites were closed/empty on the way up from Napier. There were 2 other campers, and a few people stopped in the evening to use the toilets but didn’t bother us, even turned off highbeams! Long drop toilets are fairly clean, although bring toilet paper as I didn’t see any. Only problem was nearby cows moo-ing ALL NIGHT LONG. It must be mating season!
