The DOC camp with a few seats on the barrel (do not go into the grass because you may get stuck). No sand flies. About 1h from Milford Sound. However, there are 2 toilets whose cleanliness is to be seen, smell really very strong.

We arrived at 7.30pm and it‘s so damn creepy here. Completely in the woods, you‘re parking on a little gravel thats basicly a road and at the end is one toilet (we didn’t use it because of previous reviews but also because we don‘t want to go outside). I don‘t know if we‘re maybe too sensible but we would never camp here again. $18/pp for being on the road and lowkey being scared.

An hour away from Milford Sound and not badly situated well away from the road, however, $36 to park in a field is taking the p*ss.

Lots of space for freedom camping with a nice view onto the mountains. Milford is about 1h drive from there. The toilets smelled very bad and there were lots of sandflies at this location.

Great spot around an hour from Te Anau and Milford Sound. Phone signal good at all areas of the camp and a stunning view of the Earl Mountains. Toilets are pretty bad, even for drop toilet standards. Lots of bugs - must bring spray. Not too busy. From reading other reviews the next campsite down with the hot showers may be worth the extra few bucks but the Kiosk Creek does the job (even if there is no kiosk 😢 )

Jos haluat herätä kylmänä aamuna katsomaan aurinkoa, joka tarttuu lunta peitettyihin huippuihin korkealla ja sumua joen kerroksissa, tämä on paikka pysähtyä.

Hyvä pieni paikka. Olimme täysin yksin. WC puhdas, mutta haisee epämiellyttävä. Oletko nähnyt kiiviä täällä??

Ok campground. Nothing special. Toilets are not the nicest drop toilets, but doable. You can also take a 5min walk to use the public flush toilets at Knobs Flat.

Good place to spend the night before visiting Milford sound. If you can avoid the bathroom, you'll leave with a nice memory; if you can't avoid it, you might leave with a trauma.
