One of the most beautiful tracks on both islands. There are various routes to choose from. The tracks are easy—they mostly follow contour lines, with gentle ascents and descents and no steep slopes. I really enjoyed them, with a few mini steps, some river crossings, and a short stretch along railroad tracks, which was also fun. There are signs with information about the local mine. I recommend stopping here, we were completely alone in the parking lot. You can sleep in the parking lot - SC only

Kauniita kävelyjä 30min 4+ tuntia. Oli melko kiireinen, kun saavuimme sinne keskipäivällä, joten olisi hyvä mennä aikaisin, koska autotalli voi saada täyteen nopeasti. Olemme lukeneet kaikki tiedotteet, kun menimme pitkin ja löysimme sen todella mielenkiintoinen. Paljon oppia alueesta. Oli erittäin viileä nähdä aal vanha rautatie linjat koskemattomia.

Useat vaalit vaihtelevat helpolta keskisuuriin vaikeuksiin. Hanki kartta Te Arohan tietokeskuksesta ensin. Kaunis selkeä virta autotallissa. Akun leima jää autotallissa. Seuraa kävelyjä rautateille, tunneleille ja kaltevuudelle. Ihanteellinen perheille, joilla on nuorempia lapsia. Carpark ei ehkä ole turvallista leiriytyä yöllä, kun koirat joskus tulevat ulos leikkimään.

We went hiking for 2 hours. Nice if you have the time but not a must do of the region in my opinion. The best part was the one that runs along the old rails. No particular difficulty.

Not many comments so I'll add one. Just did it today, it was definitely worth going ! many tracks available for all levels, we didn't go all the way to the top but still did 2 hours. And all along the way there are little mining things (rails, caves, machines) to enjoy

Native bush walks with a variety tracks taking as long or as short as time available. Stout shoes needed.Historical gold mines from 1881 & the rail lines & steep inclines (3) to explore. Definitely worth a look.
