We got a 400 dollar fine for staying 3 nights at 1am at night. We offered to relocate but this was not accepted. Impossible to sleep after that. Don’t stay over 2 nights. Apart from that the location is very central and close to the Mount. Spots are quite flat. One night there was a footbal match and it was very hard to get a parking spot. You can hear trains and trucks at night but quite okay for the centre.
Unable to find a spot somewhere else, i slept there 5 nights during the month, sometimes we even were more than 10 vehicles on the parking, i never got fined.
Good spot Right in the Center, in the end just a car Park but very tidy. Had almost a good night, but 4 french guys parked right beside (Wohle carpark was empty) they started to shout at 1 am and stopped around 4am. Can’t understand why it’s so hard to be quit and polite for french people. Don’t they get raised well enough if French phenomenon.
Nice location, but it’s just a car park. Unfortunately, there were quite a few of the typical French freedom campers around, and they usualy aren't the best neighbours. Little respect for others or the environment. People were openly peeing around the area, which was pretty gross. There is a toilet at Blake Park, but apparently that was too far of a walk for some.
People is suuuuuuper noisy till really late
Flat spots, it’s loud as it’s next to the port and sports areas which is fine if you are expecting it like we were. No toilets, closest public ones are a 10-15min walk away. Good phone signal of 5G. No designated spaces for the max of 10 vans which mean capacity does exceed the cap but was fine for us.
We parked here on Saturday night 8th Nov, we’ve parked here for several years and never had an issue before but on 8th Nov we had to leave it was so loud and noisy at 10 pm because there were about six different groups of young people partying outside their vans in large groups making it impossible to get to sleep. We’re concerned that this behaviour is going to ruin it for others in the future as club Mt Maunganui will remove this privilege if it continues!
Quite noisy, but a lot of space. We couldn’t find the toilets.
No bathroom, it’s for club members only. Club owner asks you to park in back of parking lot. 10 cars allowed, but no spots are specified. Unless you want to use your toilet, stay somewhere else.
