Gorgeous spot with beautiful sunset and sunrise views. The beach is beautiful and ok fishing. Right next to the train tracks so a bit of a sleepless night with the trains going through.

La femme gardienne est venue à notre camion (un transit Ford) et nous a dit qu'elle pensait que notre carte verte était un faux (bien que inspecté et délivré par NZMCA) voulait voir notre travail de papier le vérifier. Elle lui a dit qu'elle pouvait vérifier sur le registre en ligne et elle a dit qu'elle n'avait pas son téléphone. Elle nous a également interrogé si nous étions membres NZMCA donc il fallait l'emmener et indiquer notre autocollant et nos numéros.

Je vois quelques-uns des titewads se plaignent sur le Sandpit ne pas être libre. C'mon vous meanies, votre'e vivre la vie de la liberté relative, donc ne soyez pas si misérable. Cet endroit est génial. Vraiment amical Custodians, Steve, Max et Barbara. Un jour les pêcheurs commerciaux seront interdits de violer la baie, alors attendez jusqu'alors si vous êtes vraiment désireux d'obtenir du poisson. Il est difficile d'aller juste maintenant. Trains, bien ce que vous attendez des trains, ils sont bruyants, et cool. Aimez-les ou haïssez-les.

Beautiful beachside campground. Well maintained, clean, and large clearly marked sites. Friendly and really helpful hosts. Direct access to beach. Dog friendly. Allowed my brother and his wife to stay for lunch at no extra charge. Only accepts cash. Will definitely be back. Dog thought he was in heaven

We stopped here to cook lunch on our way past. What a lovely place, on the beach and very happy for us to stop for an hour at no charge! Beautifully kept up! Thank you team.

Close to beach, plenty of room. Tidy site. Trains are a bit noisy but don’t come thru often.

Nice spot right on the beach. Unfortunately there is some permanent campers residing there who have noisy generators going at all times of the day and up to 10.30pm. We noted that they were NZMCA members but had no regard for the rules
