Le site du camp est agréable (7pm à 9am, mais personne ne se soucie), les toilettes de flush sont fermées car il n'y a pas d'eau dans les réservoirs pour le flushing, une toilette à goutte est disponible cependant. Les randonnées sont incroyables (je recommande fortement la boucle du lac Rere). La route pour y arriver est grêle mais ok. Le 2ème Ford est un méchant. Vous le ferez facilement, le problème est le retour. Vous avez besoin d'un bon nettoyage sur les bumpers. Je ne le recommanderais pas si vous conduisez une moto ou si vous êtes un conducteur débutant, car vous serez coincé dans

Excellent endroit avant un tramp, la route qui mène ici est en grès, a plusieurs forges et trous. Carpark a des bouchons et des décharges pour se laver les mains. Il n'y a pas de couverture cellulaire.

Bel endroit pour dormir avant le début de la grande promenade. Nous avons trouvé des lunettes brunes au début de la piste de boucle de greenstone. nous les laissons sur la Hut du camping.

Remote and quiet! Gravel road is fine, 3 fords as mentioned but these go down as quickly as they go up. No large campervans recommended for road. We parked here to stay one night and then left the van for 4 nights during our Routeburn/Greenstone tramp. Flush toilets were locked when we arrived, on return they were open - the long drop is always available. Lovely stream nearby for a dip.

Took us about an 45 minutes to get there from the top of the lake and involved crossing 3 small fords, which was easy in the summer. Check the weather before as signal is non-existent there and the fords can make you extend your stay. Nice carpark equipped with flush toilets near some great fishing and tramping!

This is truly in the middle of nowhere and the road to get out isn’t great.

Awesome spot if you want to do the Lake Rere loop day walk (4-6hrs). Great swimming spot 5 mins down the road. Flushing loos woohoo, thanks DOC! Be aware that the carpark gets full. It hadn't rained for a week or so when we went and the fords were just about ok in our hiace.

We made it to the river, and you can’t even see where the road starts again. Not safe!

Okay campsite at the beginning of some tracks, flush toilets are closed during winter time. The road was good, you do need to pass 3 small rivers but I passed without a problem with a Toyota estima (in good weather conditions)

Thanks for the nice toilets, tom! Apart from a lot of sandflies a nice and remote stop with nice and clean flushing toilets. We made the crossing of 3 little rivers without a 4WD in fine weather, worked perfectly fine. In bad weather it‘s risky. About a 1.15 hour drive to routeburn.
