The spot itself is good. Nice view over the lake and a working toilet (without paper, bring your own). Unfortunately we were harassed by the kids with the water filled balloons as well. Thx for the warning. Still, wasn’t very nice. We decided to stay, they came twice as well with an hour pause in between. Not a very relaxing stay for us though the rest of the night was quiet.

L'eau avait un goût étrange (comme à la station de décharge) et il était très vent. Cependant, vers neuf heures du soir, un groupe d'environ six enfants s'ennuyèrent et commencèrent à attaquer avec des ballons d'eau et à frapper la voiture. Après leur deuxième ronde d'antiquités, j'ai décidé de déménager au parking de l'Opunake Recreation Ground dans le centre-ville, où il était calme.

The toilet is still under construction, so right now it's not a very comfortable place to spend the night.

The toilet was demolished on 23rd Feb 2026 and is currently being rebuilt.

A lovely, quiet spot right by the lake and not far from the beach. The toilet had no light, but it was clean and in good condition. The internet was also good. According to the sign, there are six pitches, not just three.

Chill place to stop next to a lake with duckies and so on. Houses about so you feel safe as. Walk down to the beach in 10 min. Rhe pub 5 min walk a great place to hang with locals. Super friendly. Get some!

Great place for NSC enjoyed my stay

Très bon endroit pour le camping de liberté, toilettes propres et eau potable.

Très bon endroit pour le NSC juste à côté du lac. Les toilettes de flush avaient un rouleau de toilette mais pas de savon ou de lumière et il y avait aussi une fontaine d'eau.
