מקום נהדר, שירותים ארוכים טיפה היו נקיים למדי.הגענו בשעות אחר הצהריים המאוחרות ולא הייתה לנו בעיה להשיג מקום שטוח ליד האגם.

Super free camp on the shore of Poaka lake. A huge number of spots on flat ground. All types of camping allowed. Very quiet with view of the mountains including Mount Cook in clear weather. There are also 2 dry toilets at the campground.

הקמפינג עצמו הוא נחמד, אבל למרבה הצער יש לנו חוויה מפחידה מאוד במהלך שהותנו. בסביבות 10:30pm, סלעים נזרקו על האוטובוס שלנו, מתעוררים אותנו. כ 10 דקות מאוחר יותר, מכונית מפחידה הגיעה ומקיפה את האוטובוס שלנו לפני החניה בקרבת מקום והדליק את האורות. האורחים אז יצאו עם פטל והתחילו ללכת לכיוון האוטובוס שלנו. היינו מאוד מפוחדים, אז קראתי למשטרה. בסופו של דבר, הרגשנו כל כך לא נוח ולא בטוח כי החלטנו לעזוב.

קמפינג נחמד. חינם. עומס של שטח. שירותים נופלים היו נקיים למדי. בוקר ליד האגם הוא נחמד. הדבר היחיד שאני אומר הוא אולי לא להחנות קרוב מדי לאזור הראשון עם שולחן פיקניק ליד המים, התעוררנו על ידי קבוצה של תיירים (לראות כמו כמה סיור צילום) לוקח תמונות ממש מחוץ לנעלינו 😂 עבור שקיעה.

Long gravel path and steep decent to campsite. Smelly long drops, beautiful surroundings

DOC spacious with many locations on the edge of a lake. To access it by gravel road on 2/3 km but it is done without problems. Only weak point, there are 2 toilets which is widely enough but it could really a lot, he should come clean them (it becomes urgent 😅)

Best site we have done. no shower but large enough, quiet and beautiful.

Around 10:40 pm last night someone vandalized multiple tents including ours.

Didn’t feel safe. At midnight someone is coming and stealing your belongings. Be very careful and aware, catch those bustards

Spacious, peaceful campsite with plenty of room for turning large vehicles. Nestled beside a pretty lake with a canal right behind it. Stunning views across to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Stay on the gravel canal road until you've passed most of the campsite before turning into it. Lake Wardell on the other side of SH8 looked lovely too but is closer to the road.
