Lovely spot by the river which we were lucky enough to have all to ourselves. The toilet is closed during winter, so only for self contained during that time. There was a warning about the area being prone to flash flooding, so possibly avoid if it looks like rain. It's super dark at night, a great dark night experience where we could see all the stars. Was lovely. Lots of mooing cows the night we stayed, and they went all night long. Not sure if that's seasonal or they are unusually loud 🤣

Beautiful spot where you are able to park right near the stream. Almost no people. One drop toilet which was very clean and nice.

Kia ora travellers! If you are in search of rural little hideaway, then you have found the spot. The river is gorgeous (please check LAWA websites “can I swim here” for Ōroua River before swimming). Peaceful, not many others there in December when we visited, trees provide the perfect amount of shade. The toilet (long drop) was great, no other facilities but no problem in such a beautiful location. Even some friendly cows in the paddock nearby. We loved it!

אהבתי את המקום הזה, כל כך פרטי. בסביבות 8 קמפינים נקלעו סביב אבל כל כך הרבה מקום יכול להתאים 4x כי אם יש צורך ועדיין להיות פרטי. אין מקסימום. שירותים נקיים (longdrop) נהר מקפיא אבל כל כך מרענן לשחות. אין שגיאות גדולות, קבלת תא טוב. הכביש להגיע לשם הוא קצת רוחני אבל הנוף הוא מדהים ולכן שווה את זה. לא היה לנסוע את הכביש בלילה. נראה כאילו היו מצביעים עבור שריפות קמפיין קטנות אבל לא עשינו אחד. יכול היה להישאר בקלות 2 לילות אבל רק נשאר 1.

נקודה פנטסטית לאורך כביש מעורפל, שקט ושקט ליד נהר עם נופים מדהימים!
