💡 Helpful Tips

Important 2WD Disclaimer – Red Centre Way

This itinerary follows only the sealed sections of the Red Centre Way. The unsealed Mereenie Loop is deliberately bypassed via Alice Springs to ensure 2WD safety and rental vehicle compliance. Doubling back through Alice Springs ensures you remain on high-quality bitumen and avoids the massive recovery fees (often $2,000+) charged by rental companies for unsealed road breakdowns.
