Camping and Caravan Options in Southland

We stopped at this beautiful little park on the way to Te Anau from Wanaka, booked it last minute and arrived at about 4:00pm. Showers are hot, toilets are clean, dump station and rubbish bins provided, and a great price all in all. The owner was so lovely (I didn’t get her name sorry), and even let us meet her Labrador, Charlotte (she acts scary but she’s a baby). They also have Alpacas, Chooks, Peahens, Peacocks, Sheep and Cows that you can feed and pat!!!

Excellent freedom camping spot here. Lots of spaces, clean toilets and facilities for rubbish. Right next to a great park for our kids. 2nd time we've stopped here and a nice welcome change having come from Queenstown where freedom camping is made difficult!

Emplacement trouvé facilement de nuit. Vaste terrain en gravier. Bruit de la route, peu de passage la nuit. Plus le matin.

Great place for small vans and self contained cars! We were able to use the kitchen and the other facilities. People running the place were very nice and friendly! We also parked the car there while we were in Rakiura Island for 5NZD/ day.
