When a camp next to this one is full, good option to go here. We didnt need any reservation. You can pay by card, price was 11$ per person / unpowered site. But the Sharp is much more better than this one, much more private space. Just next to the military training area, I didnt feel safe. Very strange 😀 It has only toilets. Stuff I would say unpleasant, in the next camp stuff veeeery friendly. I would say better than to get fined but it wasn't worth it.

Don't go. The staff there are unpleasant. They kick you out well before your scheduled departure time. If you ask them for information they are just polite. The lady in charge of the campsite is rude and makes comments. Rated 3/10 because there is drinking water and the toilets are moderately clean. I would avoid it if I were you.

We are travelling with a campervan, stayed there for 1 night and paid for an unpowered site. Powered was not available at the moment because it was very busy. Toilets were clean but there are no showers.

Saw a platypus swimming in the river! 8.30am 14 Jan 2022. Along the river, walk up the river through the opening in the fence, then further along a dirt path about 20m ahead. It only swam around briefly (30 secs, dove underwater, resurfaced for 10 secs and dove again). Didn't see where it swam to afterwards as the water was not clear. Drove to the other sharp park campsite next door the evening before but didnt see the platypus (nor known where to look, just took a very steep dirt path leading towards the river). Basic amenities, toilets, drinking water. Sounds of river. Couldn't find anywhere to book online and no one picked up the phone, so we just turned up and there are caretakers in both campgrounds. Paid in cash (they take card too). Preferred this one to the one next door (on the other side of the river) as this one is quieter and more peaceful. Good for a stopover. Saw wild geese, ducks, turtles and other birds.
