Stayed here last night. Lots of spots and during the night very quiet 🤗

Loved it! Great walk to start the day.

The place itself okay, just a parking in a park. Toilets 15min walk. Just know that the parking gate is closed at night if you have an early flight to catch.

We parked on the north side as there was a lot of road works and the normal parking area was taken up with roadwork no signs that we could see. There was probably 8 or more vehicles People were also parking across the road on a gravel area ( not sure if this is allowed) Beach is beautiful and toilets a short walk Phone signal was ok Road noise was loud but intermittent

Très joli, au calme au fond de la baie ! Toilettes mais pas d’eau potable, ni douche extérieure. Le spot est assez fréquenté. Il y a seulement 4/5 places autorisées mais lorsque l’on y était il y en avait au moins 8 véhicules ! On est partis vers 7h30 le matin, îles véhicules en dehors des espaces autorisés ne semblaient pas avoir eu d’amendes…

Good location, lots of space and really nice sunset views. Toilets are open 24h.

Génial ! Bravo à la communauté qui maintient en bon état cet petit coin de paradis dédié aux lapins 🤣. Cuisine équipée et avec électricité ! Bbq, douche extérieure, toilettes, dump point, firepit, ... la donation semble évidente !

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolutely unforgettable experience! What an amazing place! The campsite was fantastic, surrounded by beautiful animals and nature. But what truly made our stay special were the owners. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home. One of the highlights of our stay was when they kindly took us to a breathtaking viewpoint to watch the sunset. It was such a magical moment and something we will remember forever. Truly priceless! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality and wonderful memories. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for something truly special!

We didn't stay, but you can use Penny Key/Kiwi Cash to access the showers/laundry (no drier). Shower was ok, pretty grimy and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise fine. $3 for 5 mins. If you have one of the cards, you don't need to call and get a code, just tap twice outside the door to get in (that part doesn't cost anything)

There was a downed tree across the road a little past the bathroom blocking access to the campground when we came by on October 19th. We drove on.

Total gem! Beautiful lake and large free camping area. My understanding is that the sites on the side of the fence closer to the lake are paid Council sites ($15/vehicle), but the other side of the fence is free DOC. No issues with the long drop toilet, non-potable water was available.

There are 17 places available. There are no toilets in the car park, but you’ll find some a 5-minute walk away, in the museum grounds. They close at 9 pm. It’s fine for one night but the smell is awful

Wow Camping!! Very stunning

Tak Raul, for din varme modtagelse udenfor officiel åbningstid. Helt nye i auto-camper livet, for vi vild, kunne ikke finde vores site, og du kom med lygte og smil og viste os vej, i regn og mørke. Tak for din utrolig venlige måde at være på. For tips til ture og utrolig rene og pæne faciliteter. Alt spiller. Varmeste anbefalinger herfra.

Great freedom spot. We were worried about the wind but it was actually very sheltered. Decent facilities but there was a bit of a queue in the morning.

Beautiful freedom camping spot. We arrived after 2pm and the place filled up by 6pm. Beautiful views across the ocean, the road is quiet. Facilities were clean and the outdoor shower a bonus if you can’t face the sea. About 40mins into town along a nice coastal path.

One night here wasn’t enough. Great spots with picnic benches, brilliant facilities and the hot tubs were the true highlight. Couldn’t recommend more.

Great campsite and best value for money in Paihia! $25 for lovely hot showers, toilets, fully equipped kitchen, nice communal seating area, washers and wifi too. Ed is friendly and kind, felt like a great safe spot for a few nights. Road not too loud, not far from beach and shops, flat ground, just bring cash to pay. Thanks Ed!
