Great location and facilities. Enjoyed the hot pools onsite. Kids will love this place for the pool and jumping pillow. A gorgeous friendly little black and white cat really made our stay though, hanging out with us in our camper. We stayed a second night thanks to the cat! 🐈⬛

Great free camp. Peaceful and plenty of space. Good clean free toilets.

Hidden gem!! A very relaxing stay with friendly and helpful hosts. Facilities are great. Some people say dated, but they’re clean and functional - showers are excellent. The roaming chickens, peacocks, ducks and baby chicks everywhere makes this a must stay for animal lovers. Cost is equivalent to standard parks, but well worth it for the charm.

Excellent location! Recommend for location alone. The facilities are pretty average with penny key for hot water in showers which was disappointing. Sites are sectioned off well in bushes for privacy.

We had a great experience.

20$ for an unpowered site and 2 showers. Shower and toilets were clean. Wifi in the bar. People were really nice. There is nothing to complain at this price. No kitchen.

No flush toiltes. Really nice views and close to Tongariro.

Without doubt best place we have stayed in New Zealand. Really clean with lot of space and nice walks near.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy a sunny day. Toilets and shower availables.

Really nice place with lot of space.

Nice place. Everything was clean and the recepcionist from Chile was really nice.

Place well located if you want to visit Queenstown. However, on powered sites there is little space between spots. Too expensive (75$) for what they offer.

Decent little site. Caravans and RTT were welcomed despite previous reviews. Think the place has been done up with new toilet block and small sink. Two sites on either side of the road but seems people stay on the toilet side. There’s 6 roosters knocking about so you’ll be up early but apart from that it’s very peaceful. No phone reception, no water.

Stayed here a couple of times, it’s I safe place to have a nights sleep. It’s noisy due to the volume of trucks but you only hear them when you’re awake. I didn’t have a shower but the toilets were fine. When you’re truly tired it’s a good place to recover .

Drop toilets that don’t smell that bad, but require your own toilet paper. The scenery is incredible. A beautiful flowing lake with a mountain right behind it, and at night after a clear day the stars are mesmerising. Honestly one of our favourite free campsites in our 11 day trip around the South Island

Amenities are good for backpacking standards. Flush toilets and drinking water to refill your bottles, plus phone signal was pretty good. The real kicker is the scenery, it is GORGEOUS. Snow capped mountains surrounding you, breathtaking hiked and walking tracks in every direction, and people just enjoying a beautiful place makes this camp ground worth it. Apparently there’s showers in the nearby village, but we didn’t bother to use them. Sealy Tarns/Muellers hut was phenomenal

Small area close to Tekapo. We stopped here on our first night after picking up our van from Christchurch. Drop toilet didn’t smell all that bad and had hand sanitiser in the stall. Next to the road but it’s not super busy. There’s a small sheltered picnic table you can eat at too. Overall not a bad freedom camp to stay if you’re wanting easy access to Tekapo
