Just a warning that all of the trails leading away from the dam are currently closed due to Kauri preservation. The dam is still accessable and is okay. About 20mins down, longer back up since it is steep. Toilets at bottom.

Really good little walk! It took us 2 hours we went down to the picnic area from there you can follow the old train line down to the bottom of the dam and then walk up the steps to the top
