Non si può guidare a questo campeggio, ma si può tirare fuori la strada e parcheggiare appena prima e dopo l'ingresso alla pista al sito e camminare 10 minuti, o in bicicletta a questo sito di campeggio di fronte all'acqua. Il sito ha un rifugio cucina e un bagno a goccia lunga, così come tappe che ti avvertono di bere acqua bollente prima di bere. Il sito è proprio accanto a un paio di piacevoli sentieri, una facile da Kauri cascate o una passeggiata più impegnativa a una vecchia macchina da legno e stazione di pesca delle balene o le tracce del tram. Nessun traffico qui, solo il suono degli uccelli e il salto dei pesci.

This campsite is not boat access only. We got dropped off at the road and watched the 15 minute track to the camping area. It overlooks the Whangaparapara estuary. It is near the hot springs which we didn't check out as it was a much farther walk than we anticipated. There is a sign that says there is glass in one of the hot springs. Water must be boiled here. One long drop toilet. Thousands of mosquitoes. Be prepared for that. If you walk past the wharf, around the rocks, there is a cave and lots of beautiful crystals. It was the highlight for me. The highlight for my sister was the fishing. Stunning spot. But just be prepared, because it is a mission to walk to the closest town. Locals are awesome though, hitchhiking encouraged.
