Ho parcheggiato la mia auto sul campo vacanze ed è stata una passeggiata molto lunga fino a lì (~12 km dal campeggio, penso circa 6-8 km dalla "città" alla sabbia "montagna"). La montagna è sul lato "nord". Ero sul grande "montagno" e non ti consiglio di scorrere lì. È molto "alto angolo", è molto pericoloso, non farò questo e non lascerò mai che i miei figli lo facciano!!! Il modo fino a lì era pazzesco grande e la vista dall'alto era assolutamente sorprendente, devi vedere questo (ma fai attenzione, è una lunga passeggiata e pericoloso salire lì!) (ma farò di nuovo questo :-) )

Ho parcheggiato la mia auto sulla strada e da lì ho corruto.Ho incontrato un gentile uomo nel villaggio che ci ha dato i bodyboard.La duna di sabbia è molto ripida, è stato divertente!

Abbiamo seguito la mappa di Google e abbiamo preso la strada. A un certo punto la strada si trasforma in proprietà privata, che richiede il consenso per continuare. Abbiamo chiesto al proprietario, che era gentile e anche ci ha dato un pezzo di gomma dalla riserva! Abbiamo parcheggiato la macchina (come non si può guidare sulla strada verso le dune di sabbia), e ha camminato invece. lunga passeggiata nel terreno malvagio, ma del tutto valsa la pena, l'abbiamo fatto solo per un tramonto d'oro, una vista assolutamente bella e nessuno intorno per miglia.

We rented our boggey boards. You have to get to the end of the road on the 90 mile beach by Ahipara and park your car on the beach (unless you have a 4x4). From there it is a beautiful walk of 45 minutes only accessible from 1-2h after high tide. There is a huge dune and a small one. The view from the top of the big dune is super impressive: sea and desert. Our experience was less interesting because there were a lot of motorbikes playing in the dune making the slide more dangerous.

Don’t follow google maps! It brings you to a private property.

Access by road requires consent as it is a separate state. Nobody was there so we did not take the risk. Maybe its better to go by the beach.

A really great spot we had an amazing day there. You walk on low high tide along the beach to access the dunes. About 45 min. After that climb the steep dunes for 15 minutes. It is a great view and then slide down. Really fun! we rent the boards at the only hostel we saw. It is opposite of the public toilets. Park your car there they have cameras so it's safer. If you have a 4wd car you can drive the way along the beach like all the local fisher men. The rental was 10 dollars for 2 boards for the whole day. No private property it's a beach access.
