Piccolo sito vicino al lago. Penso che forse 10 veicoli possano parcheggiare senza sovraffollamento. Le mosche erano un problema, ma basta portare il vostro spray. Proprio accanto al lago e 3 opzioni per le escursioni. Buon segnale sulla posizione. Drop toilette è quello che si aspetta. Molto silenzioso di notte. Se troppo occupato o troppe mosche, il campeggio 7km sulla strada è una buona alternativa. Molto più spazi là sopra. nessun segnale, quindi se si sta arrivando scaricare mappe in anticipo.

Il lago è incredibilmente bello, ma il sito è solo un parcheggio ordinario senza alcuna vista. Il bagno non è il migliore ma utilizzabile. Abbiamo pianificato di rimanere qui per la notte, ma a causa dell'enorme quantità di mosche abbiamo deciso di spostarsi su... Si consiglia vivamente di visitare il lago, anche la passeggiata attraverso la foresta al punto di vista è incredibile! Per arrivare lì è necessario guidare una strada di grattacielo 20km, ma è in buone condizioni e dovrebbe essere buono per quasi qualsiasi veicolo. Non c'è segnale.

Ho soggiornato qui per una notte e è stato meraviglioso! C'è un bagno a goccia, banchetti da picnic e acqua che deve essere bollita prima di consumare. Si trova vicino a una fattoria di cervi e si trova a soli 6 km dal lago Hauroko! Come un capo in alto, è una lunga strada di grano per arrivare a questo sito. Le mosche non erano troppo cattive. Molti posti da parcheggiare.

Us and one other van stayed much closer to the lake last night, there are two grass, muddy pull-ins. Was lovely. Very peaceful but more sandflies as closer to the water. Also that area is under CCTV, but fine if you don't mind that. Rained over night and other van nearly got bogged, so be careful. Find us on Instagram if you like @twoguysvanlife and @saltyskin

Nice and clean simple grassy campsite. No frills but we liked it also because it’s close to lake Hauroko and has less sandflies ... Because the Lake has tons of them ... Btw if you don’t like mice don’t park too close to the woods. The tiny cute things checked us out quickly to see if there was something to eat. They didn’t stay around for long tho. Probably best to keep food well packed up.

Super hike! Plan hiking boots, it does not hurt! We did it in 2h30, the view at the top is great, worth seeing. You can even sleep on the spot before or after!

The track to the lookout (3hr return) is definitely recommended. It’s very steep towards the stop and mucky in parts. A little tough if you’re not too fit but worth it!

The 3hr track to the lookout is very steep and pretty hard to climb, but definitely worth it! Very nice 180 degree view. If you're in good shape you'll probably need less than 3hrs. The bush walk is... Well, a bush walk. Nice but nothing special. Still, if you have time you should definitely check out this lake!

Currently very wet and some complicated river passages, it climbs well and it's slippery. You will not see anyone!

The Bluff Lookout Track (3 hours return) is very nice :) We did it in 2 hours. Be prepared to climb slippery roots. Very remote and quiet. Great lookout over the lake and mountains from the bluff.
