Si può accedere all'area di Monkey Mia solo pagando $ a persona, non è più possibile arrivare al jetty senza pagare (The Monkey Mia area can only be accessed by paying $ per person, it is no longer possible to get to the jetty without paying)
A must-do. Free if you watch from the jetty but need to be on the beach to get picked to hand feed the dolphins. Increase your chance of being picked by being nice to the volunteers. Families are more likely to be selected. Staff take photos of the lucky visitors feeding the dolphins, you can buy the USB afterward. Yes, it is touristy but hey we’re all tourists, aren’t we. No matter how sceptical you may be, it’s amazing to have a dolphin pluck a fish from your hand if you’re lucky. First dolphins visit at 7:45am, then they come back when they want more. Could be an hour, could be 3. The first feeding is most crowded, hang around to be front of line for the next (grab a drink from nearby cafe). Check the board outside the ranger office to see times and numbers of recent dolphin visits.
We had a lovely experience seen the dolphins.. Early feed was great at 7:45am. There were 5 dolphins.. There are lots of people paid fee pp however you can view them from the jetty for free. We had the luck to be picked & feed the dolphin.. I had a very happy little girl ??
Many people, dolphins don't look good. You have to pay to see dolphins released 15 dollars. I recommend whoever stays at the campsite walk from the beach, so it does not make you pay to see the dolphins. It deserves the place, the beautiful beach, but the "show" is not worth it.
Amazing! Arrived at 9am which was a little late but still got to see 5 dolphins, two were babies! facilities are modern and clean, beach is beautiful and campsite is perfect. Emus everywhere!
Great experience! So close to the dolphins! Be here early for the feedings. When we were here the Dolphin feeding was between 7:45 and 9 with 10-15min breaks in between. Second and third feeding was less crowded with people but only one fish each for the four fed dolphins. Did the 3h boat cruise afterwards from 10-1 (99AU$/pp). Saw more dolphins next to the boat, a dugong and some big turtles! You get a sunset cruise for free if you book the day tour (5:30-7:15) same day or any day after the day cruise. Very nice, highly recommended
My impression is I did not like monkey mia. There is no interaction with dolphins at all which is fine but false advertising. I recommend head north to coral bay and exmouth and really enjoy your trip. Monkey mia caravan park is like a compound and very bright with the white seashell ground. No tree coverings for shade and staff seem to no nothing about what is going on eg. New years eve and other events. Over priced and under delivered.
12$/adult entrance fee. Quite expensive but neat experience to see the dolphins up close. Lots of people though. We stood on the jetty for a better view without the crowd. So many people lined up on the beach to feed the dolphins but very few ppl were chosen to do the feeding so don't count on it!
$12 person per day, beautiful spot for swimming and walks, turtles, dolphins, pelicans. The feeding itself is pretty boring, you cant feed unless you are chosen (200 people they choose 20), but after that we went for swim and dolphins join us it was amazing :)
