The cathedral is worth seeing and the history of it is interesting. Unfortunately, the memorial with the chairs no longer exists, it's a shame it was very haunting. All the names of the deceased are written on the wall at the memorial by the river.
This was a beautiful cathedral and the people were really friendly and informative. The inside is made from cardboard and it is really different to anything I have seen before. The cathedral has a very powerful story about the 2011 earthquake and the rebuild of the city. Defiantly well worth a visit.
Ignore the ignoramous below, this is a big cathedral made out of cardboard, really cool roof interior and awesome wee chairs. It says so much about Christchurch and is worth a visit as you walk past to the 185 chairs (and before all this do quake city). There is also a free water fountain outside to fill your water bottle
In the image of the new city center which is sorely lacking urban planner and talented architect. This new city center alongside the abandoned buildings does not seem to have a future. This cathedral summarizes the city. Not worth the detour
Really interesting and pretty! And it’s still cardboard!
It is still cardboard \/ \/ Very nice to see. A nice idea :)
Great church, we were lucky and it has just practiced the choir!
No cardboard. But nice if you are passing through
Don't waste your time. It's no longer cardboard
With a handful of volunteers who will find you and chat about the interesting facts of this unusual cathedral
