For me the most beautiful view of Akaroa's! We as a campervan definitely came up the normal road. But don't drive the gravel road (Land's End) without all-wheel drive! I would recommend you to park the car at the top and walk down the gravel path. We didn't believe the comments and were almost stuck. Still 100% recommendable!

Really don't need a 4wd. The gravel road was good even with a basic car. Really beautiful road!! Must do!

Magnificent views!! The way uphill is quite steep. Long gravel road. But it's definitely worth it.
