Lovely little village with some nice shops. Worthy of a morning or an afternoon enroute to your next destination (for me it was Nelson/Pelorus Bridge). Watching the fairy prions “walking on water” in the breeze was another little highlight.
The lovely wharf has a long history. Go to the Maritime Museum to see the industriousness of the Kiwi predecessors. Many small cafes are renovated from old warehouses. There are many people riding bicycles here. We bought ice cream and watched the cruise ship. must go place
In winter ferry funs only on weekends on the hour.
A really good stop in the afternoon for a beer, little stroll around. It’s new and refurbished very modern, loved the option and amazing coffee place there!
Nice little village with inviting cafes, restaurants and a great shop for souvenirs and art. I could have left a lot of money here.
Great little village with everything you want/need. The nearby campsite is amazing, definitely worth staying for a couple of days to explore by foot or bike (miles of cycling/walking tracks)... Rabbit Island is cool too. Try some smoked seafood from The Smokehouse ?
Nice little place for lunch, coffee, hot chocolate and / or ice cream. For the small area there are many possibilities for sitting and an extra parking space for big campers on the right side.
A great place to stop for coffee!
Nice spot for food and fishing. But take care - giant stingrays will bite. But no problem for swimming. Fish & chips is not really good. Real fruit ice is really nice. #2Germans
