Easy walk, but sometimes a bit slippery. Pleasant mixture of a beaten path and discovering yourself. Impressive what the miners have moved there in terms of earth mass.
Deff bring hiking boots. Slippy mossy rocks, uneven ground at times , a lot of water and mucky areas. It’s a really lovely walk but could do with some TLC. The triangles are placed very poorly and many have growth over them so difficult to find the way. Feels like I spent more time needing to focus on the triangles then enjoying the scenery
This walk takes you direct into the middle of the rainforest, amazing! It does indeed feel like an obstacle course, but for me it made it only more adventurous and fun.
This walk is awesome. Hiking boots would be the best although not necessary as some parts can get quite muddy especially after some rain. One of the more untouched hikes which makes it even more beautiful. We didn’t come across a single person the entire trek. Thank goodness for those orange arrows that led us back to the car park.
**** important re. Parking **** there is spade for 3 vehicles in front of the information board. Do not attempt to park on the open grass across the road as it's really soft and you may become stuck. The neighbours have put down a small drive way lined with two logs which is a safe spot and you can park higher up. Do not turn off on the grass.. Or if you do.. Check first before trying.. It is really soft the ground
Nice walk though I would describe it more as an obstacle course, not a manicured track. Took one and a half hours but didn't try and rush it. Footwear of choice was gumboots and proved to be a good choice. Fantails were a highlight.
Realy nice short walk, take your tracking shoes :)
Very nice walk!!!! Yes there is a lot of mud a bit slippery, but worth it! just put on some good shoes en be ready to get dirty.
We wanted to do this walk after heavy rain, but the entrance was flooded, the puddle was at least 20cm deep, so our waterproof hiking shoes were of no use here.
