    About

The Big Crab in Cardwell stands as a colossal representation of a mud crab, a crustacean primarily found in Africa, Australasia, and Asia, often referred to as mangrove crabs. The Big Crab is a two metre high crab, located in the town of Miriam Vale on top of the Shell Service Station and Restaurant. The crab was created in 1979 by the owner at the time wanting to promote his crab sandwiches.
