Free Camping Area in Murray River, Lakes and Coorong, South Australia Australia
This is a self-sufficient camping area in the Swan Reach Conservation Park, 14 km W of Swan Reach or 16 km E of Sedan. It is not signposted and the 2 km dirt road S of Hwy is very easy to miss, but GPS leads to the turnoff. The turnoff is a rocky road that extends about 2 km through the park. It is very bumpy but 2wd can manage if traveling slow. Periodically down the road our pull offs into bush sites for camping. There are no facilities here so be self-contained and sufficient. The area is shaded and sheltered, but the highway can be heard. This is a nice place for birdwatching. Long vehicles may have trouble finding a suitable place to pull In without blocking the road.
