Salmon fishing can be productive in the pools below the North and South Branch confluence. Salmon fishing is prohibited above the confluence. The are high numbers or trout in this section. The river is best suited for fly fishing when the river is below 25 cumecs at Mandamus. Trout are hard to spot unless the river is very low. Likely looking water should be fished blind. The river is abundant with runs and deep pools making it ideal for any fishing method.
