About

Located on the banks of the spectacular Kawarau Gorge, the Goldfields Mining Centre is a historic reserve, protected by New Zealand's Department of Conservation to depict the life and working conditions of Otago's early goldminers.

It's visitor centre, in a beautiful garden setting offers "home-cooked" morning and afternoon teas and a wide range of luncheon menus. A gold gallery featuring jewellery from local craftsmen provides the opportunity to take home a souvenir.
