About
This is one of nine Great Walk campsites on the Heaphy Track.
All campsites on the Heaphy Track have water from a tap and toilets that are supplied with toilet paper. Saxon campsite has a long drop toilet and also sinks. It has wooden platforms for tent sites. This campsite is beside Saxon Hut. Campers are not permitted to use hut facilities. Saxon campsite Hut wardens move between nearby huts in the summer. As well as checking campsite bookings, they are able to provide campers with information about the track and weather.
Bookings are required year round for all huts and campsites on the Heaphy Track. See Fees and bookings.
In Aotearoa New Zealand DOC is focussed on protecting our nature, history and culture. We want to show visitors to public conservation land how to visit the Kiwi way.
